Planting Roots::

  • The Gardener's Alliance Group (GAG) – SOS has been collaborating with other student gardening groups on campus to create a space for students to be able to share their questions and successes with each other. Groups like, Path to a Greener Stevenson (PTAGS), the Program in Community and Agroecology (PICA), the Kresge Garden Co-op, and the Campus Sustainability Office are all working to increase student knowledge about gardening on campus and build new garden communities at the different colleges around campus.   • College Eight Garden Internship Course (CLEI 90) - SOS works collaboratively facilitating this course since 2009.  Providing UCSC students with an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience with sustainable and ecologically sound horticulture, permaculture, and agricultural practices. Students for Organic Solutions::

     Students for Organic Solutions (SOS) is a group of enthusiastic students committed to raising awareness about the environmental, health, social, and economic implications of our current food systems. We work on bringing about global environmental change through greening our own dining halls and on-campus food systems. Whether it's working in college gardens or educating other students about the impacts of their food choices, there are planty of ways to get involved. We also have opportunities to receive pay or course credit for various roles, and are always looking for volunteers to support program events throughout the year!
